In bowling it's called a turkey and in ice hockey a hat trick, but all
Kelsey Mandel did Tuesday was score three goals as the Lady Tiger soccer team dismantled Midway 8-0.
Senior
Laura Swencki had two goals and two assists, helping Campbellsville to improve to 9-4-1, 2-2 with a big game Thursday (4 P.M.) against Mid-South opponent St. Catharine.
"We're playing well," said coach
Thom Jones. "I hope this game gives us some confidence that we can score. I hope it gets contagious as we close out the season."
Campbellsville had 14 shots on goal compared to two by Midway.
Mandel, from Louisville, Tenn., scored her first goal halfway through the first half on a break-away. Thirteen minutes later Swencki netted a ball that deflected off Midway's goalie.
Ashley Corum, a freshman from Radcliff, got in on the scoring on a nice assist from fellow freshman
Rebekah Carl with about seven minutes to go in the half to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 halftime lead.
Mandel scored twice within about a minute of the second half to push CU to a 5-0 lead. Carl assisted the second Mandel goal and Swencki the third.
Cassie Yannelli, a freshman from lexington, scored at the 38:53 mark of the second half, again on a pass from Swencki.

Darci Standridge after Midway goalie tried to deflect the ball of of the box.

Brittany Halcomb.
CU is scheduled to host St. Catharine College at 4 p.m. Thursday.
