Campbellsville University's softball team pounded 12 home runs over the weekend while sweeping both Pikeville and St. Catharine and running its record to 28-5-1 (12-1-1).
"Would I have thought we'd be hitting the ball the way we are going into the season ... no," said Lady Tiger softball coach
Shannon Wathen. "This is one of the best hitting teams I've had. Their off-season work is really paying off right now."

Against Pikeville 4-2, 8-0
Bailey Dillender had two homers and all four RBI in Saturday's first game against the Lady Bears.
The freshman from Lexington was also 2-2 in the second game.
"I think she'll probably be Player of the Week in the conference," said Wathen. "But that announcement won't come probably until tomorrow."
Dillender is leading the team with a .505 batting average and 10 home runs.
Erika Creek and
Jessica Gunby also had homers in the second-game 8-0 rout of Pikeville. Gunby had three RBI.

Against St. Catharine 9-2, 12-3.

Bailey Dillender (1HR) went yard for the Lady Tigers in the first game of Sunday's twin-bill against St. Catharine. Creek accounted for three RBI.
In the second game, the Lady Tigers slapped five homers, three in the first frame of the 12-3 win.
Alex Jane Clemmons (1HR),
Jennifer England (2HR) and
Dana Price (2HR) accounted for all the home runs in the game. Price had four RBI.
