Campbellsville University is two thirds into an improbable comeback after wins on Thursday against Lindenwood University (17-8) and Kansas Wesleyan (11-0) and will face Wesleyan again Friday at 2 p.m. EDT in the Region 8 title game of the NAIA Baseball Championship in Lindenwood, Mo.

The winner earns a berth in the NAIA World Series, which begins May 22 at Lewis-Clark State College, Lewiston, Idaho.

After losing to Kansas Wesleyan 5-4 on Wednesday, Campbellsville faced the daunting task of winning three straight in order to earn its first region crown.

Against Lindenwood, Campbellsville scored four runs in the first and five in the fourth and never looked back.

Zack Townsend had four RBIs with two of the team's 14 hits. Chris Curley homered in the game, and Alex Tolmachoff picked up the win.

Against Kansas Wesleyan, the Tigers scored 11 times in the top of the fourth inning and senior Bryan Fuller pitched a masterful nine-inning game where he scattered eight hits, fanned nine and didn't walk a batter. No Kansas Wesleyan base runner reached second in the game.

Campbellsville got its 11 runs off seven hits and four Kansas errors, punctuated by Nathan Quesenberry's two-run homer.

Campbellsville had four players with multiple-hit games - Tyler Derby (2), Quesenberry (2), Brian Chase (2) and Chris Curley (3).

The win improves CU's record to 39-10 and Kansas is 40-16.
