Swim team nipped by Union

Campbellsville University's Water Tigers won five events but lost by an air bubble (88-86) to Union College Saturday afternoon in the university pool.

The margin of victory for Union was two points, but nevertheless coach Lindsay Hines seemed pleased with her squad's effort.

"I was really impressed with the way our girls swam today," said Hines. "We have been working really hard on starts and finishes and it showed today.

"We had great reaction off the blocks and just out-touched Union swimmers in a couple of different races."

Campbellsville got wins in the 800-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, 400-meter freestyle, 100-meter breaststroke and the 200-meter freestyle relay.

"The crowd today was great and the girls were very excited to have all of the support."
