Just a few competitive weeks into the swim season and Campbellsville has posted national cut times in a couple of relays and several individuals are slashing seconds off there previous best times.
Coach Steve Doss took his women to Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday for an inaugural meet in the Blue Raiders new natatorium where the Water Tigers had him smiling a bit for the return trip.
"Several of our swimmers continue to improve," said Doss.
Leading the way for CU, in the meet against Lindsey and Asbury College, were the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays, with times of 4:28.13 and 4:01.49, respectively.
Bowling Green, Ky. Junior,
Brooke Cato, swam a 26.67 in the 50 freestyle, good enough for an NAIA B cut time.
Alison Lee, sophomore, Hopkinsville, Ky., knocked 4.45 seconds off her previous best in the 200 freestyle, according to Doss, and notched a 2:06.76 - also a good enough for a B cut time. Madisonville, Ky. freshman,
Kathleen Ewing, knocked down a personal best in the 100 butterfly, touching the pad in 1:06.74Â almost a half second faster than her previous best.
