It took two extra inning games for Campbellsville in Gulf Shores on
Saturday, with the Tiger softball team winning 4-3 in the first and
losing 3-2 in the second.
The Tigers trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth against the
University of Houston-Victoria, but got the tying run when Nicole
Bohanon, running for
Bailey Dillender, took third on a sacrifice by
Jennifer England and scored on
Morgan Bullock's single. Alex Jane
Clemmons, who was hit by a pitch and took second on Bullock's single,
scored when
Allison Horton's hit safely to short.
Cassidy Kroeker benefitted from the comeback and notched the win. She gave up seven hits, walked one and fanned two.
Emma Napier was 2-4 with a run scored,
Kacie Vincent was 2-3, England 2-3 and an RBI, Clemmons 2-2 with a run and an RBI, Bullock 1-4 and an RBI and Horton 1-2 and an RBI. The Tigers left nine runners stranded.
In game two, Campbellsville could manage only two hits, an RBI-single by Vincent scoring Napier, who had walked in the top of the sixth, and an RBI-double in the same inning by Dillender. CU left three runners stranded.
The University of Mobile scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth after going ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth and after being tied 2-2 in the top of the sixth.
Saturday's games ended Pool 4 play with Cambellsville 1-3 in the tournament and 10-10 overall. On Sunday the teams will be bracketed by pool play records. The Tigers will find out later tonight who they will be pitted against on Sunday.
