Box Score Campbellsville University had twice as many shots Tuesday as the visiting Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans, but the Lady Tigers were unable to push into the net in a 1-0 non-conference loss.
The Lady Tigers had four opportunities in the first 20 minutes of the game, as
Shelby Pfeiffer's shot was in the fifth minute of play and
Megan Campbell's scoring opportunity bounced off the crossbar in the ninth minute. Campbell had another shot saved and midfielder
Cassie Yannelli had a shot blocked all before Trevecca Nazarene could collect two shots in the game.
The two teams were scoreless for more than half of the game until Kalya Vanes slipped a ball past CU keeper
Brandie Hagerman in the 56th minute. It was only the third shot on goal for Trevecca so far in the game. Only one more on-target shot would come from the Trojans in the game, and it was in the final two minutes.
CU had a chance to score first in the 54th minute when
Cassie Yannelli slipped a dribbler past Trevecca keeper Neira Ahmespahic, but the ball hit the inside of the far post and rolled back out. All other opportunities were either high or wide.
Hagerman had four saves in the game, while Ahmespahic had three.
Campbellsville (3-4) will return to Mid-South Conference action on Friday when it hosts the University of Rio Grande for a 7 p.m. game.
