GULF SHORES, Ala. - Campbellsville had another split day in Alabama as the Lady Tigers won one and lost one, wrapping up their three-day swing south with a 3-3 worksheet.
CU (6-15) beat Martin Methodist 4-1, a team that owned to wins over the Lady Tigers, and then lost a 2-1, eight-inning game to Oklahoma Christian.
Against Martin, the Lady Tigers went up 2-0 in the fourth before Methodist closed to within 2-1 in the fifth. CU plated two more runs in the fifth to scribe the final margin.
Alex Jane Clemmons, who had three hits in the two Sunday games, doubled and
Alyssa Barker singled setting up
Morgan Bullock's successful squeeze bunt.
Becca Cook knocked in the second run with a single.
In the fifth,
Bailey Dillender hit into a three-base error and scored on a Barker double. Bullock picked up her second RBI with a single.
Dillender had two doubles, and Barker a double to go along with her single.
Courtney Turpin picked up the win, pitching a three-hit game.
Against Oklahoma Christian, CU scored right out of the box with a run in the first, but could get no more.
Emma Napier singled, stole second and was sacrificed to third by
Kacie Vincent. Dillender got an RBI on a fielder's choice.
Oklahoma tied it in the fourth and got the go-ahead run in the eighth. Campbellsville threatened in its half of the inning, leaving runners on second and third.
England and
Jordan Cornett had singles and Clemmons had two.
CU used three pitchers,
Martina Riney,
Taylor Wroe and Turpin.
CU will host St. Catharine Thursday in a double header at Veterans Memorial Park. First game starts at 2:00.
