Box Score 2 WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- Campbellsville University's lead in the Mid-South Conference West Division remained at one game Friday, as the Tigers split a doubleheader at University of the Cumberlands. The Tigers took the first game, 6-1, but dropped game two, 2-1.

In game one,
Sean Bouthilette carried a three-hit shutout into the sixth before giving up the only Patriots run of the game. Blake Debacher singled in Justin Jackson for the lone Patriots run to make the score, 4-1, but the Tigers added insurance in the seventh. The Tigers loaded the bases to start the seventh, scoring
Danny Lapchak on an RBI walk by
Michael Durham and
Tanner Scott scored on a sac fly by
Michael McBride.
In the bottom of the seventh, Bouthilette retired the Patriots in order with three ground balls to close the game.
Gabriel Arcoleo led the Tigers with two hits and two RBIs, while Durham also had two RBIs, despite going 0-for-3 in the game. Arcoleo doubled to score leadoff hitter
Rylan Chin in both the first and third innings. Durham drove in Arcoleo in the third, giving the Tigers a 3-0 lead. CU extended its lead to 4-0 in the top of the sixth with a solo homer by
Gibby Briones, his second long ball of the year.
Bouthilette (4-2, 4-0 MSC) finished the game with four hits, four strikeouts and two walks for his fourth straight win. The Tigers saw four Patriot pitchers, but Sean Mahley (3-2) took the loss.
In the night cap, Lapchak singled in Aaron Schowebel for the Tigers' go-ahead run in the fifth after four scoreless innings. The Patriots evened the score in the bottom of the sixth after Jackson hit a sac fly to center to score Mahley.

After the bottom third of the Tigers' lineup was retired in order in the seventh,Â
Andrew Shoemaker took over on the mound for CU. Charles Hyde doubled with one out and later scored the winning run on a two-out, bases-loaded walk of Debacher.
Shoemaker (1-2) recorded the loss after giving up the double and one walk through the first two outs.
Drew Pettit took over on the mound and walked the next two batters to push across Hyde. The Tigers' starting pitcher was
Rusty Devitt, who allowed one run off five hits and a walk through six innings. Shane Stancill (5-0) picked up the complete-game win, allowing one run on four hits and a walk.
Campbellsville (15-11, 9-3 MSC) will return to action Saturday for another MSC West doubleheader at University of the Cumberlands (25-8, 9-5 MSC). Start time is noon EDT.
