Box Score 2 CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Career win No. 900 will have to wait at least one more day for Campbellsville University head coach
Beauford Sanders. After beating Shawnee State University, 3-1, in game one of a doubleheader Sunday, the Tigers fell by the same score in the night cap to split the Mid-South Conference games at Tiger Baseball Field. The two teams will return to action Monday at 2 p.m. for the final two regular season MSC games of 2011.

In game one, designated hitter Craig Edwards drove in all three of the Tigers' runs. In the first inning, Rylan Chin led off the game with a walk and was driven in by Edwards, who reached on an error. In the third inning, Edwards struck again with a double down the rightfield line to score Michael Caleb and Danny Lapchak.
Campbellsville maintained a 3-0 lead through the fifth, giving up one run in the seventh on an RBI by Colin Keim to score Danny Gesick.
Rusty Devitt went the distance for the Tigers in the complete-game win, recording eight strikeouts and allowing four hits. The win was Sanders' 899th of his career.
In the second game, Campbellsville left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh after Danny Lapchak took a pitch on the outside part of the plate for a called third strike. The strike out ended a Tiger rally that put the tying run in scoring position.
Campbellsville took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI by Jameel Ziadeh, but the Bears evened the score in the fourth with wise base running by Kendal Coleman on a double steal attempt. Shawnee State took the lead with a pair of runs in the sixth after Gesick drove in Kendall Coleman and Keim singled in Quentin Everman.
Cory Pallutch recorded the win after five innings of work, allowing one run off three hits and a walk. Jordan Williams picked up his first save of the season by closing out the seventh. Sean Bouthilette lost his first MSC game of the season, giving up three earned runs off seven hits and three walks.
Games three and four of the MSC series will be played Monday with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. While Campbellsville has wrapped up the MSC West Division, Shawnee State is looking to win the MSC East with two wins Monday. A split will leave SSU in second place in the East, while a Tiger sweep will put Shawnee in third place in the MSC East.
