CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY. - Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson traded six-inning, mercy-rule games on Tuesday, the Lady Tigers taking the first 12-4 and Lindsey the second 9-1.
Campbellsville (29-22, 19-7 MSC) used four homers in the first game to inflict most of its damage and the Lady Raiders returned the favor in game two by launching five home runs of their own.
In game one, the Lady Tigers trailed 2-1 after 3 ½ innings before CU posted a four spot in their half of the inning.
Bailey Dillender, who had three hits in the game including a three-run homer to end the game, singled. Nichole Bohanon, running for Dillender, was advanced to second by
Natalie Duncan and scored on a
Morgan Bullock safety.
Becca Cook singled and she and Bullock scored on
Brooke Boils three-run homer.
Campbellsville followed a four-run fourth with a four-run fifth as Bullock plated
Jennifer England , Dillender and Duncan, all singles, with a towering home run to center. Dillender punctuated the win with a three-run homer in the sixth with Bullock and
Jennifer England aboard.
Courtney Turpin went six innings, pitching an eight-hitter. Lauren Siebert had a single and a triple for Lindsey and Jamie Williams a two-run homer in the fifth.
CU chased Anyibell Ramirez after 4 1/3 innings. She was relieved by Morgan Paschall, who gave up nine hits and 11 runs.
In game two, the Lady Tiger couldn't get anything going against Ramirez, getting only four hits - all singles.
Alex Jane Clemmons, who had a homer in the first game, singled twice. Cook and Vincent had the other hits.
Campbellsville stranded seven runners.
Lindsey (37-6, 18-2 MSC) scored six times in the third. Kelly McCarty, Williams and Ally Goniea all hit home runs. Emily Priar homered for LW in the fifth and Williams again in the sixth.
Campbellsville will close out its regular season with a home double header against Cumberland University, first game 3 p.m.
