WISE, Va. --Campbellsville University pulled within one game of .500 for the season with a Mid-South Conference doubleheader sweep at University of Virginia's College at Wise on Wednesday, 10-0 and 13-3.
In the first game, Bailey Dillender led Campbellsville with a 3-for-4 game, driving in three runs and scoring one in a five-inning, 10-0 victory. Campbellsville scored at least two runs in four of the five games.
The second game, the Lady Tigers took a 5-0 lead in the third inning before Jennifer England blasted a three-run home run to stretch the lead. Brook Boils hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Campbellsville a 7-1 lead. UVA-Wise got on the board in the third on an RBI single by Kristina Romualdo. Wise cut the lead to four runs in the bottom of the fifth with a two-RBI double by Megan Dillion, but Campbellsville scored six runs in the final two innings to win by 10.
Campbellsville (19-20, 11-5 MSC) is now three games out of first place in the MSC West Division. The Lady Tigers travel to Indiana University Southeast on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET for a double header before hosting the University of Rio Grande on Saturday for a MSC doubleheader at 1 p.m.
