The Tigers posted a five-run first inning, including a bases loaded, 3-run triple to dead centerfield by Michael Durham. Durham later scored on a two-out throwing error by Crusader catcher Patrick Kirkland as Aaron Schwoebel stole second after drawing a walk. Schwoebel also scored on an error to give the Tigers an early cushion.
The cushion didn’t last though, as William Carey scored its first eight runs of the game with two outs, posting a two-spot in the second and five runs in the third to take a 7-5 lead. The Tigers were shut out over the next six innings before scoring their final run in the eighth on a RBI single by Chin to score courtesy runner Trent Seamons.

Andrew Shoemaker came in to stop the damage in the third and held the Crusaders scoreless in the fourth and fifth. He pitched until the eighth after the Crusaders tacked on two more runs after Pettit gave up a walk and double with one out. Ryan Richardson gave up a two-RBI single by Kirkland (2-for-4, four RBIs) before getting a double play ball to end the inning. Campbellsville was sat down in order in the ninth.
Senior short stop Michael Caleb led the Tigers’ offense with a 3-for-4 day and two stolen bases. Durham and Chin each hit 2-for-4 with Durham stealing second and third in the fifth inning for his two stolen bags.
Overall, the Tigers left eight runners on base, including seven in scoring position. There of those were left on third base in the third, fifth and sixth innings.
