Lady Tigers rally to beat CCU on the road

Box Score CINCINNATI, Ohio - Campbellsville University recorded its first win of the season Friday night at Xavier University, as Ashley Corum lifted the Lady Tigers to a 2-1 victory over Cincinnati Christian University.

The Lady Tigers fell behind 1-0 in the first half, but bounced back with a rebound goal by Jessica Ralph in the 50th minute to tie the game. Corum gave her team the lead on a similar play about 20 minutes later.

"We came out really flat in the first half and they were pushing us off the ball, but at halftime we made some adjustments and I had some really encouraging words for them," CU head coach Thom Jones said. "I was glad to see them come back from being down 1-0 and win on the road. We showed character there."

Brandie Hagerman recorded the win in goal with two saves, while The Lady Tigers collected a total of eight shots on goal.

Campbellsville (1-1) will return home to HIG Field at Finley Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 6 to host Union College (1-1) in a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
