Box Score BEREA, Ky -- After suffering its first loss of the season, the Campbellsville University Tiger baseball team exploded for a 19-1 victory over home-standing Berea College Wednesday.

Devitt was held to two innings in his first start since offseason surgery. He faced eight batters, allowing only one hit. He struck out two and threw only 34 pitches in the no decision.
Mason Yates picked up his second mid-week win of the season in relief, throwing the third, fourth and fifth innings without allowing a hit or run. Yates walked two and struck out two. Chad Leskiw closed the game on the mound with two innings of work. He gave up two hits in the sixth, including Berea's only run on an RBI single by Mathew Eversole to score Austin Hunt.
Offensively for the Tigers, catcher Tony Rossetto contributed to one-third of CU's run support. Rossetto posted a 3-for-4 day, including a double, with three RBIs and three runs scored. He was joined by Craig Edwards (3-for-6) as a three hit, three RBI guy. Danny Lapchak was also 3-for-4, driving in two runs, and Trent Seamons went 3-for-6 in the game.
In addition to Rossetto, Edwards and Lapchak's combined eight RBI, CU gained insurance runs from a three-RBI outing by Chance Kopacz (2-for-5) and Marc Garza (2-for-4). Kopacz had a triple in the game and Garza doubled twice. Ryan Chin filled his stat line, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two RBI and three walks.
The Tigers are scheduled to open Mid-South Conference play Friday, March 2 in a 3-game series at Georgetown College. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 3 p.m. EST, while Saturday's double-header will begin at noon EST with the second game to follow.
