Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn- Tiger baseball was able to come back from an early deficit Wednesday, as Campbellsville University defeated Trevecca Nazarene University, 10-5. The win improves the Tigers to 18-4 on the season.

After holding the Tiger offense scoreless in the first, the Trojans wasted no time getting on the board. Nick Howell legged out a bunt to open for the Trojans and went on to score, as Matt Tidwell knocked his fourth homer of the season to give Trevecca an early 2-0 lead. But the Tigers' offense was quick to respond.
Campbellsville posted two runs of its own in the second, as Brandon Johnson notched his first home run of the season, which scored Rylan Chin.
The Trojans answered in the bottom of the second to regain the lead, 3-2, compliments of a Tyler Wallin solo homer to left. But that was the last time the Trojans led in the contest.
The Tigers posted five runs in the third to take control of the game for good.
Danny Lapchak got the rally started, knocking a single up the middle, while Chance Kopacz was able to get on base after being hit by a pitch. A misplayed ball off Mark Garza's bat scored Lapchak, while Kopacz and Garza both advanced on a balk from TNU pitcher Tyler Vakey. Gibby Briones drove in both runners with a double to left-center.
CU loaded the bases for Trent Seamons with a Chin single and Johnson walk. Four pitches later, Seamons drew an RBI walk to score Briones, giving CU a 6-2 lead. The Tigers added one more run in the inning, as Tanner Nielsen also drew an RBI walk to score Chin before CU left the bases juiced.
The Trojans added a run in the third with an RBI single from Luke Fennell to score Mark Rayburn, who reached base after being hit by a pitch.
Chin walked to lead off the fifth. After stealing two bases, he scored on a Trojan error.
Both teams were held scoreless in the sixth, but the Tigers added runs in the seventh and eighth. Seamons scored on an RBI ground out by Nielsen in the seventh, while Craig Edwards scored on an error in the eighth to give Campbellsville a 10-4 lead. Trevecca added a run in the ninth.
CU's Aaron Shoemaker (3-1) posted six solid innings for the Tigers to record the win on the mound. Johnson led the Tigers with two hits and two RBIs, while Nielsen and Briones each added two RBI each.
CU (18-4) will return to Mid-South Conference action Friday as it hosts the University of Pikeville (4-13) at Tiger Field for game one of a three-game series. The game is set to start at 6 p.m. EDT.
