Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Hosting NCAA Division II member Bellarmine University proved to be just another day at the park for Campbellsville University, Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers improved to a 14-3 season record with a 6-0 home win over the Knights at Tiger Field.

Bellarmine reached first base on the third pitch of the game, but wouldn't put another hit on the board until the second batter of the third inning. The Knights finished with just four hits total, compared to the 11 put up by the Tigers.
After a scoreless first inning, Campbellsville quickly capitalized on a Knights' miscue in the second. Scoring off a Bellarmine wild throw, Craig Edward reached third base via a double steal before turning one base into two. Edward, who singled to start the inning, merely trotted down the third base line for the Tigers' first score of the ball game, 1-0.
The Tigers never looked back as they proceeded to load the bases and score Chance Kopacz from third, off Michael Durham's RBI fielder's choice to the shortstop for the first out of the inning, putting CU up 2-0. The Tigers grounded into a double play on the next pitch, leaving one man stranded.
Two scoreless innings passed before Campbellsville plated another run.
Choosing to play a little small ball in the bottom of the fifth inning, Campbellsville used a free trip to first base with Antony Rosetto's base-on-balls. Courtesy runner Levi McCammish stole second and was advanced to third base off a Tanner Neilson sacrifice bunt. An RBI single through the shortstop by Gibby Briones scored McCammish for another Tiger run, 3-0. Campbellsville left the bases loaded, leading into the top of the sixth.
Bellarmine never found a rhythm, putting up all of its four hits through six innings. Campbellsville went on to no-hit the Knights in the final three innings.
With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Rylan Chin singled to center field before advancing to second on a stolen base. Another single from Rosetto, this time to center, scored Chin from second; putting Campbellsville up 4-0.
McCammish again entered the game to run for the catcher, Rosetto. Reaching second off another stolen-base, McCammish advanced to third off a Bellarmine throwing error, from a ball hit by Nielson. McCammish scored, 5-0, on an a high throw by the Bellarmine catcher.
Facing the Knights' fifth pitcher, in the bottom of the seventh inning, Campbellsville put up its final run of the game.
Briones singled to center field before reaching second by a stolen base. Kopacz also went middle, scoring Briones from second with a single to deep center field, 6-0. Kopacz reached second on a stolen base but was left stranded.
Campbellsville muscled out a Keeton Neab double to deep left field in the bottom of the eighth inning, in what would turn out to be the last Tiger base runner. Campbellsville's Chad Leskiw was credited with the win in relief.
Campbellsville will travel to Shawnee State for a three-game Mid South Conference series starting Friday, March 9-10. The Tigers currently hold a 2-1 MSC record.
