Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - A host of pitchers helped close the book on the 2012 regular season Monday night as Campbellsville University honored 14 seniors before beating Asbury University, 9-3, at Tiger Field.
The Tigers gave up three runs early before scattering nine over the next four innings.

For Asbury, Brandon Smith doubled in a run in the second, while the Eagles added two more in the third on a two-run double by Tyler Wooden.
Campbellsville got its offense going in the bottom of the third, starting with a leadoff double by CU's only four-year Tiger,
Craig Edwards. After a passed ball,
Brandon Johnson hit a sac fly to score Edwards and put the Tigers on the board. Senior designated hitter
Danny Lapchak plated
Tanner Nielsen on an RBI single to pull CU within a run, 3-2.
CU took the lead in the fourth. Edwards singled in senior
Gibby Briones for the tying run, while
Keaton Neeb plated two more with a double to push in front, 5-3.
The Tigers posted another three-spot in the fifth. Lapchak scored on a wild pitch before Chin doubled to right to score Durham, who dodged a tag at home. Edwards singled in Chin for his second RBI of the game and third hit in a 3-for-3 performance. Nielsen doubled in a run in the sixth to round out the scoring.
In the eighth, Tiger head coach made some substitutions for his seniors, squeezing pitcher
Jacob Cook into a pinch-hit role and sliding three-year Tiger pitcher
Rusty Devitt into the first base coaches' box. Ten of the active 12 Tiger seniors made their way into the action Tuesday. The only exceptions were MSC starting pitchers
Ryan Richardson and
Michael McBride.
Danny Bright got the start on the mound for CU, giving up one run off four hits and a walk through two innings.

Phillip Gerber each pitched in the game. Yates (3-0) recorded the win for the Tigers for pitching the fifth innng. He used 12 pitches to retire the three batters he faced.

Campbellsville (35-14) will host the 2012 Mid-South Conference Tournament later this week for the third-straight season. The Tigers will enter as the No. 3 seed and play its first game Thursday, April 26 at 1 p.m. against No. 6 seed University of Virginia's College at Wise. The loser of the game will immediately play again at 4 p.m. EDT, with the winner playing the night cap Thursday at 7 p.m. EDT.
