Richardson gave up only four hits and no walks in the win, while striking out three. He collected the bulk of his run support from the middle of Campbellsville's batting order with Michael Durham (2-for-3), Rylan Chin (3-for-4) and Craig Edwards (2-for-2) combining for seven of the Tigers' 11 hits, five RBIs and three runs scored.
CU used back-to-back bunts in the second inning to load the bases after leadoff walk by Gibby Briones (1-for-2). Briones stayed alive on the first bunt opportunity with a wild throw to second. An Edwards sac fly and ground out by Brandon Johnson drove in two unearned runs to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
Wise starting pitcher Ryan Crosby entered the game needing one strikeout to break the program's single-season K's record. He fanned Chance Kopacz for strikeout No. 90 on the year and the second out of the third inning before the Tigers strung together four singles to score three runs.
After Crosby pitched out of the jam, Josh Guizer took over for Wise in the fourth and allowed an unearned run, stretching the Tigers' lead, 7-0.
Keaton Neeb reached on an error to start the fourth and courtesy runner Levi McCamish scored on an uncontested delayed steal at home.
After two scoreless innings, the Tigers reached the mercy rule in the seventh with a pinch-hit RBI single from Ryan Squires and a two-RBI hit from Tanner Nielsen.
