TROUTVILLE, Va. -
Emma Napier broke up a no-hitter with a one-out single in the bottom of the fifth and
Bailey Dillender's two-RBI double was enough to advance Campbellsville to Friday play in the NCCAA National Tournament. Campbellsville did it with a 2-1 win over North Greenville University.
The Lady Tigers will play at noon tomorrow against Cedarville, a 5-2 winner over Emmanuel. That game will be at the Botetourt Spots Complex as well.
Campbellsville wasn't getting much done off Greenville's Rachel Glazebrook. The sophomore had not allowed a hit until the fifth and had struck out five. She was a little wild, issuing five bases on balls to that point. She walked seven altogether.
Greenville got on the board in the fourth when Glazebrook reached on an error to lead off the inning. Amy Nagel had a one-out single and then Kimberly Robertson singled home the Crusaders' only score.
Courtney Turpin spread out five hits and stranded six Greenville runners. She struck out four in seven innings of work.
Napier, Dillender,
Jennifer England (2),
Brooke Boils,
Kristin Benton and
Heather Oakley were all offered free passes in the game.
Dillender snuffed out a Greenville scoring opportunity in the sixth with a diving grab of a liner off the bat of Sarah Griffith that ended the inning. Then in the seventh, catcher
Erin Benton made a good play on a short foul for the first out of the seventh frame.
