Cal Baptist sends Lady Tigers to loser's bracket final, 4-1

TROUTVILLE Va. - Campbellsville was up 1-0 on California Baptist in the fourth and then the Lancers erupted for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to send the Lady Tigers to the NCCAA Tournament  loser's bracket final on Saturday morning.

Campbellsville will meet Trevecca (38-17-1) at 10 a.m.

CU (40-23) could manage but two hits, but they both came in the fourth when Emma Holden momentarily lost her grasp on the Lady Tigers.

Jordan Cornett hit a one-out single and was plated a batter later by Jennifer England. The Lady Tigers left three stranded in the game.

Holden fanned 12 CU batters to help her team improve to 48-6.

In the fifth, Courtney Turpin had two outs and a runner on, but then hit Sloan McHann with a pitch and gave up two singles and a double before throwing out Danae Leiser at first to end the inning.

Cal Baptist had seven hits, four in the fifth inning. The Lancers left seven runners on base.
