Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville University completed a two-game sweep of No. 14 Missouri Baptist University on Friday with a 3-1 win at Lindsey Wilson College's Egnew Field.

Matt Robertson (1-0) allowed one run off three hits and one walk through six innings to record his first win as a Tiger, while Drew Pettit picked up his second save of the season, allowing only a walk in the seventh.

CU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second after Brandon Johnson singled to start the inning. With one out, Aaron Schwoebel lined a single right up the middle to score Johnson. Keaton Neeb followed with a single to left off the leg off leftfielder Ryan Clarke, who went on to boot the ball into right-centerfield, allowing Schwoebel to score from first.

Robertson allowed only one hit and three base runners through the first five innings, until Missouri Baptist got a two-out double from Clarke in the top of the sixth. With two outs, Ryan Gunhouse delivered an RBI infield single to score Clarke, but Robertson got a pop up behind home plate to get out of the inning up 2-1.

Johnson led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo homer to left on a 1-2 count. Earlier in the at bat, he popped up at home plate, but MBU catcher Joe Stropp lost sight of the ball, keeping Johnson's chance alive. He finished the 3-for-3 from the plate.

No other players had multiple hits in the game. Tanner Nielsen and Travis Hayes were both 1-for-3, joining Schwoebel and Neeb as the other Tigers with base hits.

CU (3-1) will return to action Tuesday, Feb. 19 for a doubleheader at Asbury University starting at 1 p.m. CU's games that were originally scheduled for Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 have been canceled.
