Box Score BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Nine different pitchers saw action Wednesday between two teams, as Campbellsville University gave up a 10-spot in the fifth to get run-ruled, 13-2, by Union College at Jerry Carey Field.

The non-conference loss snaps a six-game win streak for Campbellsville (8-2), which was coming off a three-game Mid-South Conference sweep at the University of the Cumberlands.
After three scoreless innings, the Tigers got on the board in the top of the fourth. Aaron Schwoebel led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a sac bunt by Shayne Kelly. Michael Bush singled to drive in the junior outfielder.
In the bottom half of the inning, CU starting pitcher Sean Bouthilette allowed two free passes with one out before Nelson Price singled to load the bases. Ben Hartley later followed with a two-out, two-RBI single to put the Bulldogs on top, 3-1. Jared Tomany also had an RBI single in the inning.
CU stranded two on base in the fifth before Union unloaded offensively. The Bulldogs strung together 10 runs off seven hits, two walks and two hit batters in the error-free inning. Bouthilette exited after allowing a one-out walk in the inning, and reliever Jeff Larabee faced only two batters, giving up a double and hitting the other. Freshman Shane Woodson lasted only a third inning after allowing placing all five batters faced on base through four hits and a walk. All five went on to score. Ethan Berchet-Hall closed the inning, but not before giving up two more runs off three hits.
Schwoebel scored a run in the six after a sac fly by Keaton Neeb and the Tigers were unable get a base runner in the seventh, as Union wrapped up the shortened game win.
Tanner Nielsen led CU's offense, hitting 2-for-3, while Schwoebel, Bush, Michael Johnson and Patrick McMeel had CU's other four hits.
Campbellsville is scheduled to return to Mid-South Conference play Friday and Saturday at St. Catharine College. Game times are expected to change due to weather. Check CampbellsvilleTigers.com for updated schedules on the day of a game.
