CINCINNATI, Ohio – Campbellsville University men's bowling returned from a near two-month break to finish 11th at the Storm Hoinke Bearcat Open at Western Bowl over the weekend.
CU finished 19th after individual scores were completed, making up CU's six team games. However, the Tigers bounced back with their 20 Baker games. The Tigers' A team bowled the highest baker game score of the tournament with a 289 in the ninth game and third-highest with a 279 in the first baker game. CU averaged 208.8 per game and had the fourth-highest baker total at 4,176.
The Tigers' B team performed better in the team games, sitting in 14th place Saturday but fell off in the baker games to finish 20th out of 31 teams.
Jonathan Lobb led the A team with an average of 204.3 pins per game. His 1,226 total placed him 34th among 190 individuals. Ryan Bremer was 44th with 1,204 pins, Jordan Adams was 64th with 1,147 pins, Jordan Ventresco had 1,126 pins and finished 77th. Matthew Marshall competed in four games with an average of 174.25 and Chris Nunex averaged 140.5.
Jordan Sallee led CU's B team, and all Tigers, with a total pen count of 1,248. He topped out at 253 in his first game and finished 26th overall. Harry Haynes followed on the B team with a score of 1,197 to tie for 47th. Â Hudson Haynes followed in 66th place with a 1,144 total. Jake Hafermalz was 76th with 1,127 pins and Travis London was 89th with 1,084 pins.
CU will return to action Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Bulldog Classic, hosted by Union College at Galaxy Bowl in Richmond, Ky.
