CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville Tigers put their 2-1 loss to Saint Catharine College behind them Monday night with a 12-0 non-conference win over Tennessee Temple University at Finley Stadium.

The dozen goals are the most scored in a soccer game on the Citizens Bank Field turf, which was stalled in 2010 at Finley Stadium. It is also the most scored and widest margin of victory for Tiger soccer since a 17-0 win over Pikeville on Oct. 14, 2006. It is also the worst defeat for Tennessee Temple since falling 12-0 at Georgia Gwinett in the 2012 season opener.

Marcelo Petit put the Tigers on the board in the first three minutes of play and added two more goals in the ninth and 27th minutes for his third hat trick of the season. Adam Linderholm rebounded from his own goal last week by heading in a corner kick in the 14th minute to help give Campbellsville a 4-0 halftime lead.

Petit opened the scoring in the second half also, this time having a shot blocked into the goal for a Tennessee Temple own goal in the 50th minute, and then assisting Roraigh Yearwood in the 51st minute.

Yearwood ended his three-game scoring drought with his first hat trick of the season, adding goals in the 63rd and 84th minutes.

Alex Higdon added a goal in the 52nd minute and assisted Maurizio Infante in the 64th minute. Linderholm added a second goal in the 59th minute and Gustav Carlsson scored in the 71st minute.

Josh Hollis recorded the shutout win in goal, facing three total shots and only one on goal. Campbellsville collected 28 total shots, including 19 in the second half. Tennessee Temple keeper Josue Fernandez had five saves.

Campbellsville (8-5) will remain home this weekend, hosting Shawnee State University for an 8 p.m. EDT game Saturday, Oct. 18.
