CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University dominated its first-ever home women's only duals Saturday, winning four matches to help secure its No. 3 seed in next month's national duals.
Campbellsville hosted No. 10 Missouri Baptist University, No. 11 Missouri Valley College, No. 16 Life University and the B Team from No. 7 University of the Cumberlands in the five-hour, two-mat showcase in Powell Athletic Center. It was the first time CU hosted only a women's event since adding the sport in 2013-14. CU's women hosted a joint duals event last January with the men's team.
"I received a lot of comments about the tournament, and how well run it was and our facilities. I need to thank CU for allowing us to have this opportunity. We couldn't have done it without a lot of support," CU head coach Lee Miracle said.
CU started the day with a 35-9 win over Missouri Baptist, followed by a 42-6 win over Missouri Valley, a 41-5 win over Cumberlands B and 39-7 result over first-year program Life University.
"I thought the wrestling was really good from our girls. Fundamentally, they're getting better. Technically, a lot of them are doing things they've never done before, and their intensity level was high," Miracle said.

Campbellsville (16-4) will send some of its wrestlers to the Minnesota Storm Holiday Cup, Dec. 18-20, but will not return to team competition until Saturday, Jan. 3 when it hosts another home duals tournament.Â
