BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Lady Tiger swimming added two national A cut times over the weekend at the Union College Winter Invitational.
CU saw 23 times improve in the two-day swim meet, including five new cut times, two of which were A standards for the NAIA Championships in March.
Bailey Foxworth showed improvement in four races during the weekend, as well as helping increase speed in all three women's freestyle relays. Foxworth collected an NAIA A cut time in the 100 Fly, clocking in at 1:00.94 in her first time to swim the event this season. She also collected a B cut in the 50 Free for 26.31. Foxworth also showed improvements in the 200 fly (2:26.27) and 400 IM (5:16.20).
Shelby Mattingly was the other Lady Tiger to record an A standard during the weekend, dropping her 50 free time to 25.46 seconds. She also improved upon her B cut times in the 100 free (56.71) and 200 free (2:06.08).
Marien Rincon also qualified for the NAIA Championships, posting a B cut time in the 100 free (57.50) and improved on her 100 breast time (1:13.70).
In addition to Rincon, four others improved in the 100 breast: Emily Hunter (1:19.25), Meika Hamblin (1:30.03), Amber Wright (1:35.86) and Jenny Deibler (1:43.77).
Maria Archila also swam faster times in the 100 fly (1:15.33) and finished eighth in the 200 IM (2:45.34), Jessica Cook improved in the 50 free (28.08) and 200 back (2:35.33), Casey Galyon (1:07.75) and Katlynn Lanham (1:15.64) each improved in the 100 free and Hunter added an improvement in the 400 IM (5:21.39).
CU finished sixth of eight in the team standings with 45 team points.
Campbellsville concludes its competition for the fall semester and will resume its schedule Jan. 24 with a home meet against Bethel University and Lindsey Wilson College in Powell Athletic Center.Â
