Box Score CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Day two at Lee University was nearly the exact opposite of day one as Campbellsville University avenged Tuesday's 9-2 loss with a 9-5 victory Wednesday afternoon.
CU strung together 10 hits, including three doubles, to score its runs and struck out only three times compared to 15 Wednesday night.

Chris Tuma (1-1) recorded his first win for the Tigers, pitching eight innings, and allowing five earned runs off 10 hits and three walks.
"We came out today and were a totally different group of guys. We played better baseball and didn't beat ourselves. They (Lee) had to earn stuff. We had good approaches at the plate and just kept pressure on them," CU baseball head coach Beauford Sanders said. "After the first inning, Tuma did a great job. We needed that because our back end guys are still a little shaky. The collective lineup had a better approached today. I hope this will be a good boost for us to carry over into the weekend when go to play St. Catharine."
After allowing two runs in the bottom of the first, Tuma allowed only three hits between the second and eighth innings until giving up three more runs in the ninth.
Lee University (12-6) used a leadoff double by Josh Silver in the first, followed by an RBI single by Andres Nelo. Derrick Pitts later tripled with one out and scored on an RBI hit by Blake Ray to give the Flames a 2-0 lead.
Campbellsville answered in similar fashion in the top of the second, as Alex Kline and Jacob Russell both doubled to start the inning. Russell drove in Kline and then scored on a two-out wild pitch to tie it, 2-2, after two.
The meat of the Tigers' offense was in the third when CU plated six runs off six hits, all earned. Shane Woodson doubled to start the inning and scored on a Gentry Kinsella RBI single. With two outs, Kinsella scored on a wild pitch with Kline at the plate. Kline drew a four-pitch walk before scoring on another Russell double. Ricky McColloch, Ryan Squires and Alex Ferarro followed with back-to-back-to-back RBI singles.
Suddenly Tuma had a six-run cushion, 8-2.
Alex Scanlan made it 9-2 in the top of the seventh, scoring an unearned run.
Tuma's only other trouble after the first inning came in the ninth after pinch hitter Seth Gower doubled down the right field line to start the inning. Nathan Wierzgac and Scott followed with singles with Gower scoring on the second one. TR Dunne took over for Tuma and gave up an RBI double to Silver, a walk and RBI sac fly to Cameron Scott before getting Zack Zyburt to ground into a fielder's choice at short to end the game with the tying run on deck.
Lee University, which finished the 2013 season with 51 wins and a third-place finish in the NAIA World Series, is in its second year of transition to NCAA Division II and is in its first season competing in the Gulf South Conference.
Campbellsville (7-7, 1-2 MSC) will return to Mid-South Conference action this weekend with a three-game set at St. Catharine College (7-9, 2-1 MSC). The games, originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, will now be played Saturday and Sunday due to field conditions from the winter storm earlier in the week. Start time is 2 p.m. for a single game Saturday, March 8, and Sunday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at noon.
