CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Tigers (12-6) came up just short of clinching a statement win over the visiting NCAA D1 Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky University, with a final score of 6-3.

The Tigers jumped to a quick lead, winning two of the three doubles matches. Campbellsville used those wins to carry them into singles play. Though only one Tiger, Sebastian Marot, was victorious in the singles matches, the final score came down to the last two matches.
Head coach Kyle Caven spoke on the game. "Great match for our younger guys today. We have battled a lot of injuries this year and to close today out like that is a testament to their hard work and how deep we are."
When asked how a game such as this could provide momentum for the team to finish the season strong, Caven said, "Today is really beneficial towards the rest of the season by knowing if we show good attitude and effort, we can win. We have our biggest matches coming up in conference. We are always happy to compete well against D1, but more importantly compete well no matter who is on the other side of the net."
The Tigers will finish the season with one conference match and two non-conference matches before entering tournament play. They travel to No. 17 Cumberland University on Tuesday, April 15, to take on the Bulldogs in a conference match at 3 p.m.
