FT. WAYNE, Ind. – Campbellsville University women's wrestling posted its first Top 4 finish at the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) National Duals on Saturday in only its second trip to the national tournament.

Campbellsville beat Pacific (Ore.) and Lindenwood (Mo.) Friday to advance to its first national duals semifinal Saturday morning.

CU, ranked No. 3 in the WCWA duals rankings, fell short in its semifinal, falling 29-16 to second-ranked Oklahoma City University. The Lady Tigers lost its first four weights to fall behind 17-1, but went on to win its next three weights. Rosemary Flores and Hannah Gladden each won decisions at 130 and 136 pounds, respectively, to pull within 12 points, 19-7, and then Kayla Miracle wrestled up two weights to 143 pounds and tech'd Rachel Young, 10-0, to make it 19-12. Michelle Organ and Kayla Aggio were in a close battle at 155 pounds, until Aggio was able to pin Organ with a minute remaining. The pin put OCU up 24-12 and clinched the dual with two weights to go.

In the third-place match, CU fell behind 9-0, but Michelle Lomas pinned Lindsey Spjut to make it 9-5 McKendree. CU and Mckendree traded decision wins at 123 and 130, making it 13-9, and but Gladden lost at 136, stretching the Bearcats' lead to 16-10. Miracle cut the difference to a point, 16-15, with a pin against Cassie Herkelman, but Organ and Autumn Rux each lost a 12-1 tech fall to fall behind, 24-17. Tiara Scott capped the dual with a pin, but it was not enough, as the Lady Tigers finished two team points short.

Campbellsville will take next weekend off from competition, and then will travel to the McKendree Bearcat Open, Jan. 23-24.
