FT. WAYNE, Ind. – Campbellsville University women's wrestling advanced to its first Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association National Duals semifinal Friday with dominating wins over Pacific (Ore), 49-0, and Lindenwood (Mo.), 30-17, in War Memorial Coliseum.
The Lady Tigers coasted through the first round, wrestling only three weights against Pacific, which forfeited seven weights.
Hannah Gladden, a freshman from Alabama, made her CU debut with a tech fall over Carrie Ann Randolph, 12-0, in the first weight wrestled. Michelle Organ (155 pounds) and Autumn Rux (170 pounds) each won by pin in 16 and eight seconds, respectively.
CU took a 14-1 lead against Lindenwood, following a forfeit win at 101 pounds, a pin by Kait Fitzpatrick and tech fall, 16-6, by Michelle Lomas. Kasey Ricketts lost 10-0 by tech fall at 123 pounds, but Rosemary Flores picked up a 3-1 decision at 130 pounds. A forfeit at 136 pounds gave CU a 22-6 lead. Lindenwood's Monica Ramirez pinned Gladden at 143 pounds in 47 seconds, but Organ clinched the win for CU with a  12-1 tech fall. Tiaira Scott capped the dual with a 10-0 tech fall after Rux was pinned at 170 ponds.
Campbellsville will meet second-ranked Oklahoma City University in the semifinals at 9 a.m. Saturday. The OCU Stars received a bye in the first round and beat Wayland Baptist, 33-11, in the quarterfinals. Top-ranked King University and McKendree University will meet in the other semifinal at 11 a.m. The two winners will meet in the championship at 4:3 0 p.m. ET with the third-place match scheduled for 1 p.m.
