Tigers bounce Georgetown on the road, 11-0

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Tiger soccer extended their winning streak to six games tonight after dominating Georgetown (Ky.), 11-0.


Campbellsville came out of the gates quickly to put the match out of reach. Guilherme Cheng, Shane Buchanan and Marcelo Petit all scored within the first 15 minutes to go ahead 3-0. Ryan Foster assisted on Buchanon's score and Chris Moyo assisted on Petit's.

Cheng led the Tigers with his first collegiate hat trick, all in the first half. Cheng scored in the 10th, 36th and 44th minutes to push his total for the season to nine.

Ross Lindsay and Marco Galeano also scored in the first half off assists from Alex Ryan and Gabriel DeFreitas, respectively.

Campbellsville outshot Georgetown 23-6 in the first half.

In the second half, the Tigers kept the pedal to the floor, but this time the reserves played most of the 45 minutes.

Maurizio Infante started the second half scoring in the 48th minute with his first goal of the season. 

All within the 65th minute Joao Gomiero and Sam Wills recorded goals off of Diego Morales' assists. Morales's fourth and fifth assists of his career.

The final goal in the 11-0 shutout was kicked in by Daniel Nimmo, his third goal of the season.

Campbellsville finished the match with 41 shots, 21 on goal. Georgetown recorded eight shots only two on goal. Gonzalo Sapena and Josh Hollis shared a save apiece. Georgetown also played two goalies, Patrick Schwartz and Matthew Oster saved four and six goals, respectively.

Campbellsville will return to Finley Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 17 to face Ohio Christian at 7 p.m. ET.
