BOWLING GREEN, Ky.– The Lady Tiger bowling team moved up three places in the last day of the Southern Kentucky Collegiate Classic to bring the bronze hardware home on Sunday. CU ended the two-day competition in third place, with 6,450 team points.
The Lady Tigers competed well in the team games of day one, with team three topping the 900-mark with a 906 pin-count. Nevertheless, they sat in sixth place at the end of day after a couple of sub-800 team games.
When Baker play started for day two, CU bowled over 196 in six of its twelve games to give it the second-highest baker total of 2,259 pins. The results combined to boost the Lady Tigers from sixth place to third out of sixteen teams, behind only Emmanuel College and defending MSC champion University of Pikeville, who also took the Classic title.
"When we started the day today, we were in sixth place," said coach Jamie Lawrence. "But we fought back hard to get that third-place title."

She bowled 223 and 202 to help herself to a 953-pin count, good for fourth in the 142-man competition. CU sat tied for seventh with Lindenwood-Belleville after the first day of team play with both teams knocking down 5,401 pins. Each of the five teams bowled over the 865-pin mark. But the Baker Games hurt the Tigers, as they could not knock down more than 198 pins in any of the twelve games. They finished with a 2,025 baker pin-count, tallying their two-day total at 6,526 pins.
Bethel University won the men's varsity competition with a 7,123 pin-count.
Campbellsville's JV team also competed amongst seven other teams, placing eighth. Their two-day total was 5,738 pins, made up of 3,945 team game pins and 1,794 Baker pins.

In the individual competition, sophomore Andrew Lissik took runner-up in the 195-man field. A game three total of 221 and game four total of 238 helped him to a 1,045 pin-count and the second-place finish.
Junior Ryan Bremer was the next Tiger on the leaderboard, coming in 33rd place with a total score of 913. Devon Gunderson placed 51st and Travis London finished in 52nd with Gunderson totaling 864 and London with 862.
