MARSHALL, Mo. — Hanna Hall scored 25 of Campbellsville's 109 points as Lady Tiger wrestlers finished seventh in the 30-team Missouri Valley Open over the weekend.
Hall won three consecutive matches in the 155-pound weight class, defeating her teammate, Michelle Organ, in the third round before losing 3-0 to University of the Cumberlands' Jessika Rottier in the championship match.
Organ won two matches and finished fourth with a 10-1 loss to Niauni Hill of Lindenwod-Belleville in the third-place match. Organ compiled 19 team points for her effort.
Hannah Gladden won three matches before dropping into the consolation bracket and finishing fourth at 143 pounds. Gladden had 21 ½ team points.
Tiaira Scott, wrestling for the first time this season, earned 14 team points, but Menlo's Celycia Sandoval bounced the 2014-15 national champion into the consolation bracket in the third round.
Other wrestlers to score points, included: Courtney Gray (7 ½), Raquel Valderrama (6 ½), Maria Ramos (6), Shelby Hall (6), Rosemary Flores (6), Kasey Kruczek (5), Grace Finley (3 ½), Erica Sotelo (2 ½), Kasey Ricketts (2 ½), and one point each by Ruby Ariosa, Kate Hill and Rebecca Carson.
Top 10 teams were: King (254), Oklahoma City (229 ½), University of the Cumberlands (189), McKendree (176 ½), Lindenwood U. (163 ½), Menlo (125 ½), Campbellsville (109), Wayland Baptist (104), University of Jamestown (102 ½) and Bearcat Wrestling Club (60 ½).
Campbellsville will host NAIA opponents Saturday, Dec. 4 for the Campbellsville Duals.
