COLUMBIA, Ky. — Tiger basketball overcame a disastrous night on the boards, losing the battle by double digits, to defeat Voorhees College 78-49 in the first game of the Lindsey Wilson Classic.

Campbellsville (6-2, 1-1 MSC) was outrebounded 48-35 by Voorhees (8-3) but shot 47 percent from the floor to overcome the rebounding disparity.
The Tigers started 1-of-10 from the floor in the first 10 minutes of play, but finished the game hitting 31-of-65 from the floor and 33 percent from the 3-point line (9-of-27).
Voorhees shot 27 percent for the game, connecting on only 20 of its 74 shots. But Voorhees did battle in the paint rebounding over half of their missed shots, finishing the game with 23 offensive rebounds.
CU had four players score double-digits tonight, led by freshman Hagen Tyler's 16 points. Dii'jon Allen-Jordan had 14 points, collecting five rebounds and three blocks. Rob Robinson and Zach Perry scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Ron Scott led the team in rebounding with seven while also dishing out a team-high five assists.
In the first half, with about seven minutes to go, Campbellsville finally found the bottom of the net. The Tigers regained the lead and finished the half on a 17-4 run entering the locker room and a 15-point lead, 35-20.
During that first half run, 12 of the 17 points were recorded off of four 3-pointers. Tyler had two, with Sekou Harris and Perry both netting one apiece.
Voorhees started the second half hot going on an 8-0 run, cutting Campbellsville's lead to nine before Scott stole the ball and assisted Rob Robinson for two points and a 37-28 advantage.
At the 12-minute mark, Voorhees cut the lead to seven with back-to-back 3s from Desmond Louis. Elliott Young's lone two-point field goal put the Tigers back into a double-digit lead, 41-30, which the they would never lose.
CU shared the ball well tonight recording 16 assists, a third best on the season and quadrupling VC's four. Also, the Tigers turned the ball over just 10 times, a second best on the season, compared to Voorhees' 17.
Campbellsville will play the second leg of the Lindsey Wilson Classic tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 28, at 3 p.m. ET against Marygrove College in the Biggers Sports Center. Fans can listen to the game live on the CU Sports Network – 88.7 The Tiger (www.wlcufm.com).
