Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Tigers sprint past Midway for sixth win, 83-43.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Lady Tiger Basketball flexed all its muscles tonight in an 83-43 win against Midway College (0-11, 0-0 KIAC), as each of the 15 players on the roster tallied points.

The win for CU (6-3, 1-1 MSC) is its second in the last five games, and it will look to use the momentum to take on two Mid-South Conference opponents later in the week.

It wasn't until Lexxus Graham hit back-to-back 3s with six minutes left in the first quarter that Lady Tiger Basketball (LTB) finally warmed up to their normal offensive heat. Graham's buckets sparked an 11-0 run, with contributions from Lindsey Burd and LeAnn Grider. CU held the Eagles to five points for the first quarter after another seven-point run, led by Kristen Jacob, Lauren Turner, and Alexis Pester, scoring while coming off the bench.

The Lady Tigers struggled to score on a few possessions at the beginning of the second period until Abby Miller grabbed a pass from Burd and laid it in to begin another seven-point run. Midway fought back in the quarter with a couple of 3s, led by Jariana Gillespie, who hit four from behind the arc.

When Midway missed, though, then Eagles would not get a second chance. Campbellsville grabbed 17 defensive rebounds for the first half, four of those coming from Burd, who was close to a double-double. She grabbed eight total rebounds and finished the game with three steals and 10 points.

With 2:11 left in the half, coach Ginger Colvin had a "freshman platoon" in the game for the Lady Tigers. Madison Kaiser rebounded off a Midway miss, and was fed by Grider for an 18-foot jumper to end first-half scoring, heading into halftime at 38-20.

To start the third period, Miller took a charge and Emily Fox drained a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions. Fox had been quiet during the first half, but she came alive in the second, going 4-for-7 from behind the arc and also 4-for-7 from the field to lead all CU scorers with 12 points.

Jacob also contributed buckets for the Lady Tigers in the second half. With 2:37 left in the third, Leann Grider hopped up and tipped a rebound to Jacob, who finished the play. She would end the night with eight points, shooting 100 percent from the paint.

In the fourth, Midway used a couple of Gillespie and Missa Walker 3s, as well as a few quick-hitters from the block to draw fouls from the Lady Tigers and get to the free-throw line. Gillespie led all scoring for the Eagles, finishing the night with 15 points and three rebounds. Walker had eight for the Eagles and two boards.

Kaiser and Macie Spence took over the defensive boards for CU in limited second-half minutes, picking up 6 and 3 defensive rebounds, respectively. Kaiser also contributed on the offensive end with eight points from the paint.

Every Lady Tiger on the roster contributed points tonight. They were led by Fox's 12, with double figures coming from Lexxus Graham with 11 and Burd with 10. Others on the board were Stewart (7), Turner (6), Pester (6), Dylana Fothergill (4), Grider (4), Miller (2), Spence (2), Jordan Doram (2), and Gracie Martin (1).

The Lady Tigers go on the road Thursday, Dec. 3 for a 7 p.m. ET game in Columbia, Ky. against Lindsey Wilson College.
