Volleyball spilt two matches in Barbourville

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — Lady Tiger volleyball spilt the day in the wins and lose columns. They swept Tennessee Wesleyan, 3-0 then lost in four sets to Union College.
 

Tennessee Wesleyan (25-14, 25-19, 25-18)

Campbellsville (18-13, 8-7 MSC) used a .240 hitting percentage to beat the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs in three sets.

The Lady Tigers were lead by senior, Jana Kortas, who nearly missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs. Julia Fonseca followed close behind recording eight kills.

Inoa Fields produced a season low of 21 assists from 36 kills. Fields leads the Mid-South Conference in assists (10.4).

On the defensive end, Chanel Raymundo and Jessie Pendleton both recorded double-digit digs, 15 and 14, respectively. Raymundo also recorded six kills.

Brooklyn Bowling severed two aces in the 3-0 win.

Union College (19-25, 26-24, 26-28, 17-25)

In the second match of the day the Lady Tiger hitting percentage wasn't as hot as before with the fourth lowest hitting percentage of the season at .077. Both teams ended the match with 46 kills, The Bulldogs hitting percentage not looking much better at .143.

In four sets, Kortas and Annija Abolina recorded double-digit kills, 12 and 11 respectively. Fields assisted 40 times in the second match.

Marcella Compeau tied her season-best digs in a match at 20. Pendleton picking up 16 digs.

The Bulldog's Maggie McGraw had the matches only double-double with 11 kills and 22 digs. Rachel Andrews tied her season best recording 17 kills.

Campbellsville returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 10 as they travel to St. Catharine College. It will be the last regular season match. The Mid-South Conference Tournament begins on Friday, Nov. 13 in Bowling Green, Ky. More information will become available after the completion of the regular season on Nov. 10.
