Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville completed a three-game sweep of Georgetown College on Sunday with an 8-3 win to move within a game of first place in the Mid-South Conference.

Six CU Tigers collected two hits each, but it was shortstop Garrett Everhart and centerfielder Ricky McColloch which sparked the most of the offense. Everhart drove in four of Campbellsville's eight runs and McColloch had three RBIs.
Everhart plated the first run in the bottom of the first after Miguel Solano-Espinoza and Carlos Torres singled with one out. Casey Scott then drew a walk to load the bases to set up a fielder's choice RBI by Everhart.
Georgetown evened the score in the top of the third with a solo shot by Duran Elmore, but McColloch answered with a two-run homer to left in the fourth to make it 3-1 CU. In the sixth, he drove a double deep down the left field line to score Shane Woodson.
The visiting Tigers had a runner on with one out in the seventh, when CU first baseman Richard Ramirez bobbled the ball between his legs at first. However, he avoided a Bill Buckner-esque error by recovering to dive and tag the bag in time for the out. CU pitcher Nick Morehead got another ground ball to end the inning and his day.
Morehead struck out six through seven innings pitched. He allowed one earned run off four hits and no walks.
CU created some space with a pair of runs in the seventh off RBIs by Everhart and Richard Ramirez, who also had two hits for CU. The others with multiple hits were Solano-Espinoza, Torres, Ramirez and Woodson. Alex Scanlan and Valle each had one hit.
Georgetown cut the score in half, 6-3, in the top of the eighth, but Everhart delivered a two-out single to right-center to cap the game's offense. Pinch hitter Ryan Squires battled in his only plate appearance, following off five-straight before receiving the walk CU had with 14 hits.
Indalecio Romo, Matt Robertson and Casey Congleton each made appearances on the mound. Â
