Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville secured a series advantage with a 4-3 come-from-behind win in game one today, but could not secure the sweep as the Lady Tigers and Blue Raiders split a double header at Veterans Memorial Park.

Campbellsville (12-4, 3-0) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal the first game.

Lindsey Wilson (16-6, 0-3 MSC) had winning pitcher Victoria Decker (7-2) in trouble in the fifth, but the junior escaped with giving up only one run — an RBI single by Amanda Trampe.

Decker scattered eight hits while walking two and striking out five.

Jacqueline Roof's RBI single in the second gave CU a short-lived 1-0 lead, because in the top of the fourth LWC's Andrea Whelan hit a solo home run.

Lindsey led 2-1 until Roof's second single of the game plated Markie Smith to tie the game at 2-2.

Trampe's sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh put LWC up 3-2, but Brianna Scott singled with two out in the bottom of the seventh scoring the tying run in Zatoria Leavell. Roof advanced to home on the throw.

Jordan Hood pitched a seven hitter, walking two and striking out five in the loss.

Scott and Smith had two hits and an RBI apiece. Roof, Haley Szpila and Erin Benton had the other three.

In the second game, Lindsey Wilson (17-6, 1-3) took a 2-0 lead and led all the way against Neely Quint (5-3).

The Blue Raiders got two in the second when Quint walked a batter and hit three to force in a run. Then a successful squeeze play scored the other run.

CU (12-5, 3-1 MSC) crept to within 2-1 in the bottom of the inning when consecutive doubles by Markie Smith and Rebecca Miller plated a run.

But Lindsey would post two more runs in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Smith homered in the fourth to close within 4-2 and got a run in the sixth when Kendyl Ahrens went yard.

Losing pitcher Quint was touched for 12 hits, walking two and striking out a season-high seven batters. Casey Bryan was the winner, pitching a six-hitter and striking out five.

The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host St. Catharine on Tuesday, March 24 in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
