19th-ranked Campbellsville (17-4) now moves into a tie for first place inside the MSC with St. Catharine and Lindsey Wilson colleges, at 7-2.

The Tigers are scheduled to play Asbury University in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 31, starting at 3:30 p.m. ET. CU will then host St. Catharine College in a weekend series, April 4-5. All games can be followed live on the Campbellsville University Sports Network, HERE.

In the series against Cumberlands (13-18, 2-7 MSC), the Tigers scored 24 total runs in the three-game series, compared to the Patriots four. A large portion of that total came in yesterday's game, when CU unleashed 17 hits and won, 17-1.

Today, the Tigers recorded 15 hits in the two games combined, but the Patriots could not find an answer for the CU pitching staff.

Starting pitcher Matt Robertson (1-1) went 6 2/3 innings, allowing only one run on three hits in game two of the series. Nick Morehead (5-0) continued his dominance, throwing his first complete game as a Tiger to seal the sweep. Morehead shut the Patriots down until the final inning when the Patriots got on the board with two outs.

Carlos Torres led the Tigers at the plate going 4-for-6 and driving in two runs in both games. He was the lone Tiger to have multiple hits in each game and finished the weekend hitting .700 (7-for-10). Torres finished the week going 9-for-13 (.692) and leads the MSC, hitting .479 on the season.

In game one, Campbellsville started where it left off from Saturday's rout and scored two runs in the top of the first inning. It all started with a leadoff single by Chris Allen and a one-out triple by Torres. Casey Scott then delivered a two-out single scoring Torres to push the Tigers up, 2-0.

Cumberlands answered with Luis Hernandez singling to center field and Jose Reyes delivered a double to deep right-center field to spark the bottom half of the inning. Stone Osborne then grounded into a 5-3 fielders choice to score Hernandez but Robertson shut down the Patriots for the remaining 19 outs he was in the game.

CU added one in the third inning, with what was the eventual game-winning run. Allen started the inning with another leadoff single and went on to steal second base. Torres was intentionally walked and Alex Kline moved Allen to third base with a fielders choice. Kline then attempted to steal second base but Allen was also taking off from third for a double steal to score.

Cumberlands attempted to fight back in the final inning. The Patriots picked up two hits off closer Logan Truex but the southpaw from San Ramon, Calif. ended the rally with a pop up. Truex went 2 1/3 innings for his MSC leading sixth save.

Allen, Torres, Garrett Everhart all delivered two hits in game one with Scott and Torres picking up the Tigers' only RBIs.

In the series finale, CU played small ball to get on the board in the fourth inning. Torres led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kline. Scott then delivered a RBI-single to right field putting the Tigers up 1-0. Scott came around to score the eventual game-winning run on a misplayed ball by Osborne for the Patriots.

The Tigers added another run in the fifth with a little help from Cumberlands. Gentry Kinsella reached second base on a routine ground ball to Jesse Reyes but his throw sailed into the Patriots dugout. Kinsella stole third base and scored on a Torres double.

Torres was a home run away from the completing the cycle for the two games today.

CU added another run in the sixth after another Reyes error to take a 4-0 lead.

The Patriots were able to squeak a run across in the bottom half of the seventh before Morehead shut down UC.

Cumberlands committed 11 errors in the three-game series compared to the Tigers' three. Campbellsville is second in the MSC with only 23 errors in 679 chances, good for a fielding percentage of .966. The Patriots on the other hand, sit dead last with a percentage of .946, committing 52 errors in 961 chances.
