Box Score 2 CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Lady Tiger Softball split a doubleheader today against the University of Pikeville, securing their first outright MSC regular-season title since 2009. CU shared a conference regular-season championship in 2013 with Lindsey Wilson and has won or shared the regular season title six times.

Playing at Veterans Memorial Park in a make-up doubleheader that was postponed April 3 because of rain, CU (31-6, 22-2 MSC) used a walk-off triple by Kristin Benton to end the first game by run rule (12-1), but in the second game CU committed four errors to go along with eight Pikeville hits and lost, 4-2.

Victoria Decker (17-2) pitched a two-hitter in the game-one win, allowing just two hits and striking out four.
Kristin Benton and Hailey Szpila had three RBI apiece in the nine-hit attack.
But the second game was a different story as UPIKE's Sydney Morris, who was in the circle at the end of game two, dodged solo home runs to Erin Benton and Jacqueline Roof, to pick up the win. She struck out seven and allowed only five hits.
Neely Quint (14-4) allowed eight Pikeville hits, walked one and struck out six. But she was victim of a three-run third when Pikeville used three of its eight hits and a throwing error from Shelby Ray trying to cut off a run at home.
Roof had two hits; a single and her home run, to pace the five-hit CU attack.
Campbellsville got the leadoff hitter, Kendyl Ahrens, on base in the bottom of the seventh when she singled to left, but stranded pinch runner Kennedy Shutter there to end the game.
The Mid-South Conference Tournament is set to begin Thursday, April 30 at Michael O. Buchanon Park in Bowling Green, Ky. Brackets are expected to be released after all make-up games are played, approximately on Tuesday, April 27.
