Moore, Brooks finish in fourth at FLW Qualifer

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. — It must have been a Kentucky thing this weekend at the FLW Regional Qualifier. Three of the top four teams at Kentucky Lake are all from the Commonwealth and Campbellsville University's own Austin Moore and Cameron Brooks finished in fourth place.

Moore and Brooks put their boats in at 7 a.m. ET at Kentucky Dam Marina with 44 other teams but it didn't take long for CU to start getting bites. The CU duo reeled in a total of five fish for 19.1 lbs. but also brought home a check of $500 for the program's College Club Scholarship that was presented by FLW Fishing.

The champions, Shaw Owens and Ethan Snyder from Eastern Kentucky University, finished with just over 21 lbs. and won the $2,000 College Club Scholarship from FLW Fishing.

Campbellsville also had one other boat that was right on the bubble after weigh-ins were finishing up. Mason Sapp and Dakota Cantrell finished with three fish at 8.6 lbs. and outlasted Western Kentucky University's Cody Mattingly and Ryan Coleman who finished with 7.14 lbs. and missed the cut.

Both Campbellsville teams have now qualified for the FLW Regional Championship that is scheduled for Oct. 3-4 at Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, Ill. For more information on that tournament, click HERE.
