RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Wyatt Pearman and Ridge Rutledge won the AFTCO Collegiate Bass Open on Lake Dardanelle this past weekend.
237 boats hit the water in Arkansas, looking to win this double points event. These points are settled in deciding who wins the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year, presented by Abu Garcia.
Wyatt and Ridge had a solid day one. They had five fish for 14.72 pounds. The pair sat .02 pounds behind the leaders.
Day two started off fast for CU. The anglers had five fish in the boat by mid-morning. They continued to grind and were able to cull several fish. At the end of the tournament, they would win by 1.5 pounds. Over the two-day event, the two weighed in ten fish for 28.13 pounds.
Allen Powe and Jonathan Combs had a strong showing down south. The anglers finished inside the top 15. They had a slow first day with only 7.61 pounds but bounced back with a 12.08 bag on day two. The two finished with nine fish, going 19.69 pounds.
Braden Fairbanks and Drew Gill ended the tournament in 57th place. They caught six fish for 14.23 pounds. Brock Blazier and Colby Joseph weren't far behind in 76th. These two caught five fish, totaling 12.60 pounds. Brantly Barrentine and Ryan Daughtery ended with 11.89 pounds.
River Blanton and Brock Catleet finished in 150th. Evan Waggener and Caleb Cason slotted in 157th place. Ryan Lachinet and Corey Yarish ended in 199th.
The Tigers return to the water on Oct. 27th as they travel to Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C.
