COLUMBIA Ky. – Campbellsville handed Grace College its second loss of the season today in four sets on the last day of the Lindsey Wilson College Volleyball Classic. 

The Lady Tigers were on target as they went up against Grace, beating the Lancers in four sets, 25-22, 25-16, 20-25, 25-16.

In the first set, CU took off on a 4-0 start but after a couple errors were forced to take a timeout with the scored tied 9-9. After the timeout the Lady Tigers regained the lead and won the set (25-22) with help of Inoa Field's back-to-back aces. Grace's errors and multiple kills from Annija Abolina, Brooklyn Bowling and Jana Kortas helped seal the win. 

The second set started slow, forcing coach Amy Zink to call another early timeout with the Lady Tigers down 5-2. Out of the timeout CU used 7-0, and 8-0 runs to regain the lead and never look back, finishing the set 25-16.

Grace regrouped after their nine-point loss and never let the Lady Tiger have the lead in the third set. CU tried to catch momentum with a late 5-0 run, making the score 16-12. But Grace called a timeout and used multiple kills and aces to stay in the lead. The Lady Tiger dropped this set, 25-20.

In the fourth and final set there were four lead changes until Grace tied the Lady Tigers at 12-all. CU then used a 14-4 run to end the set and win the match. During its run CU used seven kills from four different players.

Abolina led CU with 15 kills on a .414 hitting percentage. Kortas and Brianna Harman recording 12 and seven, respectively. Fields dished out 33 assists in the four sets.

Jessie Pendleton recorded 14 digs in the mid-morning match up.

Campbellsville (3-3,1-0) will now hit the road for a Mid-South Conference match against the 11-ranked Georgetown College Tigers on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET.
