GEORGETOWN, Ky. — (BOX) Campbellsville volleyball ran into a high-powered Mid-South Conference foe on Tuesday night and could not muster enough offense to get past the 11th-ranked Georgetown Tigers. Campbellsville fell in three sets, 25-13, 25-21 and 25-19.

Annija Abolina and Brooklyn Bowling led the Lady Tigers with seven kills a piece and Jana Kortas cooled off after a spectacular week at the Lindsey Wilson Classic with five kills. Overall CU struggled on the offensive end, finishing with an attacking percentage of .076.

Inoa Fields dished out 20 assists and Jessie Pendleton recorded 11 digs.

The Lady Tigers fell behind early in the first set, 6-4, and Georgetown College went on a 19-9 run to get ahead, 1-0.

Campbellsville rallied in the second set and took a 13-10 lead forcing Georgetown to take its first timeout. GC went on a 6-3 run to knot the second set at 16 and retook the lead (18-16) and momentum after a costly service error by Campbellsville.

The Lady Tigers showed life and were able to rally once more and cut the lead to one, 22-21, but Georgetown squashed that with four quick points to take set two.

Campbellsville got behind once again in set three, 8-3, and kept the five-point deficit all the way until Georgetown won, 25-19.

The Lady Tigers will take a week off after playing five matches in six days. Campbellsville will host University of the Cumberlands on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. ET. Live video and stats will be available.
