CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Tiger soccer netted a pair of goals in each half and improved its unbeaten streak to 26 games with a 4-nil victory over Shawnee State.
The eighth-ranked Tigers (10-0-1) closed out Homecoming 2016 in style and pushes its unbeaten streak to 23-0-3. Campbellsville improves to 3-0-1 in the Mid-South Conference and is tied with rival Lindsey Wilson. The Bears fall to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play to sit in fifth place in the standings.

Ignacio Mangada who found the back of the net with his team-leading ninth score of the season.
After recording another four shots throughout the rest of the half, CU finally capitalized as the Bears were playing a man down since the 39
th minute. Cody Hartong picked up his second yellow card on a hard foul inside the box setting up a CU penalty kick, which
Nathan Heath attempted and scored, giving CU a 2-0 intermission lead.
The second half was identical to the first just without the PK. Senior
Ross Lindsay found an open
Pak Hei Chan in the 61
st minute giving CU a 3-0 advantage.
Just two minutes later, Lindsay then scored a goal of his own, as Gauilherme Fanck found him inside the box.
Campbellsville's
Gonzalo Sapena and the Tiger defense pitched another shutout – their eighth in the last 10 contests. Sapena finished the night without a save, as Shawnee State was only able to muster three total shots.
The Tigers came into the ball game averaging 26.8 shots and 14.1 shots on goal per game, which are both tops in the NAIA. CU was pretty close to that mark tonight, as Brandon Pfeiffer faced 21 shots and nine on goal, while finishing with five saves for the Bears.
Campbellsville will now stay at Finley Stadium for three-straight games to end its home schedule before ending the season at University of the Cumberlands in late October. CU will host Bryan College on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET.
