VALDOSTA, Ga. — Lady Tiger golf took a step back today in the final round of the Thomas University Invitational, finishing tied for third place.
The Lady Tigers fell back 21 strokes after an opening round 307 to allow University of the Cumberlands to jump ahead of CU and Thomas University for championship honors. The Patriots shot 308-316 (624), while Thomas finished 306-319 (625). Campbellsville and SCAD-Atlanta finished 10 shots behind Thomas with team scores of 635.
Senior
Cassidy Scantland led Campbellsville firing 76-77 for a two round total of 153. She finished tied for fourth with Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Riley and Southeastern University's Rebecca Bostrom.
Anna-Marie Hyatt fell back six strokes from her opening round 76 to finish with a two-day total of 158 and be tied for 12
th.
Kylie Withrow shot a final round 87 to finish tied for 21
st, while
Michaela Jarman improved her first round score by one stroke firing an 82 to finish tied for 28
th.
Ashley Goodin rounded out the Lady Tigers scoring with a final round 88 and finishing tied for 30
th.
Caroline Parrish of Thomas and Diane Lim of Coastal Georgia tied atop the leaderboard with 147 totals but Lim defeated the other in a playoff to claim medalist honors.
Campbellsville will now travel straight to Panama City Beach, Fla. for the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship at The Hombre. The banquet is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 with first round play starting at The Good, The Bad and The Ugly courses starting on Monday, Oct. 24.
