GEORGETOWN, Ky. — After reeling off five straight wins, Lady Tiger Volleyball collided with a couple of ranked opponents today at the Boneyard Brawl hosted by Georgetown College.
Columbia College (21-11) showed up with a No. 25 ranking and dispatched CU (23-10) in straight sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20.
The Lady Tigers were held to their lowest hitting percentage (.144) in their past six matches and only
Annija Abolina could muster double-figure kills (12).
Inoa Fields had 29 assists and
Jessie Pendleton (33) and
Ashlyn Flock (12) led the team in digs.
Campbellsville (21-12) extended No. 9 Lourdes (22-5) to four sets, but lost 15-25, 25-19, 19-25, 17-25.
CU had three to reach double-figure kills —
Katie Johnson (10), Abolina (10), and
Maria Coelho (13).
Lourdes out hit CU .226 to .188 and that proved a big statistic as both squads had 46 kills.
Fields posted 33 assists and 12 digs for a double-double and Pendleton (33), Johnson (13) and
Savannah Moss (10) had double-figure digs.
The Lady Tigers host No. 8 Georgetown College Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. A junior varsity match will start at 5:00.
