Lady Tigers' 20-point 3rd quater sinks Bluefield State, 108-41

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville went on a 20-0 run after the halftime break today and completely blew open an 18-point game against Bluefield State in the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center, 108-41
 
CU (4-0) was a chilly 2-for-14 from 3 in the first half, but forced 20 turnovers and cashed in on 15 of its 19 free throws to command a 37-19 halftime lead. But the Lady Tigers warmed up after the break, hitting 10-of-21 from 3, to reach their season percentage (35%) from behind the arc.
 
Out of the break, the Lady Tigers' 20-0 run was punctuated by a couple of 3s by Madison Clements and Emily Fox, forcing two Bluefield State timeouts. They led 57-19 with 6:20 in the third quarter.
 
Bluefield State (0-2) was led by Lyndsay Hatfield's 10 points.
 
The Lady Tigers held the Rams to just 29 percent shooting while connecting on 49 percent themselves after hitting 36 percent in the first half.
 
Campbellsville led at the end of the first quarter, 19-8, as eight players reached the scoring column. When all was said and done, 13 Campbellsville players scored.
 
CU had five players in double figures, led by Clements' 19. Also, scoring in double figures were Fox (19), Alexis Pester (13), Jordan Doram (12) and Queralt Coll Prades (10).
 
Campbellsville won the rebounding battle 51-33 with Doram and Prades grabbing seven apiece. LeeAnn Grider had a solid stat line with seven points, seven rebounds and six assists.
 
The Lady Tigers will have a week off, after four consecutive road games, and will entertain Talladega College Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. for their home opener.
