No. 3 Reinhardt is too much for Campbellsville, falling 69-20

WALESKA, Ga. — The third-ranked Reinhardt Eagles totaled 590 yards – 337 of them on the ground - to continue its undefeated season with a 69-20 win over Campbellsville.

The Fighting Tigers fall to 1-8 overall and finish the Mid-South Conference West Division schedule winless at 0-5. Reinhardt improves to 9-0 and 4-0 inside the West. The Eagles will play for a perfect regular season next week at Bethel University.

The lone bright spot for the Tigers throughout the day was Hunter Brown throwing for three touchdowns – two of those to senior Tyus Alcorn. Alcorn finished with seven catches for 110 yards. Fifty-five of those yards came on one play as the Brown-Alcorn duo hooked up for CU's second touchdown.

Freshman Kendon Young also had a long reception touchdown, hauling in a 52-yard TD in the lone score for the Tigers in the third quarter. Brown finished throwing for 255 yards – just the second time all season he hasn't tossed over 300 yards.

Reinhardt opened the game by scoring on eight of its first nine drives and Campbellsville, even though they have one of the best offenses in the NAIA, couldn't keep up.

The eight scores for the Eagles weren't long drives where Reinhardt pounded the rushing attack. It was the big plays that the Tigers have struggled with all season. The eight touchdowns scored in the first half all came on an average of of 4.1 plays per drive.

Leading rusher LJ Stegall had scoring plays of 47 and 44 yards on consecutive drives in the second quarter. He led Reinhardt with 112 yards on seven rushes and the pair of TDs.

Deonte Dennis also had a paid of rushing touchdowns pushing his single-season mark to 12. Reggie Mack, Sonny Harris and Qua Stocks also had rushing touchdowns for Reinhardt.

Campbellsville's Chantz Goodman has a solid day on the ground, running for 61 yards on 14 attempts.

The Tigers will return to Finley Stadium for the 2016 finale, as CU hosts Cincinnati Christian for Senior Day. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET with senior day ceremonies starting at approximately 11:40 a.m.

In addition, Donnie Johnson and Demetrius Forney will be inducted in the Campbellsville University Athletics Hall of Fame at the beginning of halftime.
